£46 | Will buy… | A pair of wall-mounted blood pressure cuffs for a bed in the new delivery area. |
£70 | Will buy… | A wall-mounted fan for a new delivery suite. |
£254 | Will buy… | A breastfeeding chair for the new Discharge Lounge. |
£1,120 | Will buy… | An electronic couch for our new Triage area - allowing immediate assessment and transferral to the most appropriate area of the unit. |
£1,250 | Will buy… | A blood pressure monitor, to check the health of mums and their babies before and after birth. |
£1,400 | Will allow us to provide… | An en-suite area especially for birth partners and fathers to take a break, watch some TV, get a coffee and maybe catch up on some sleep! |
£1,500 | Will buy… | A ‘bear hugger’ – a special furry wrap to keep women warm following a c-section, preventing possible complications through a drop in body temperature. |
£4,400 | Will allow us to provide… | A new Discharge Area where mums can wait and feed their new babies in comfort while waiting to be taken home. This will also free up delivery rooms for new patients. |
£6,300 | Will buy… | A foetal heart monitor, so we can constantly monitor the baby's heartbeat during labour and make sure it is not in distress. |
£8,500 | Will buy… | A special delivery bed for the obstetric theatre, for use by women giving birth by caesarean section. |
£9,200 | Will buy… | an infant resuscitaire - a special care breathing apparatus that looks like a cot, for newborn babies who need extra care immediately after birth |
£10,000 | Will buy… | a blood fridge for one of our operating theatres, to hold up to 36 pints of life-saving blood. |
£11,700 | Will buy… | a Level One for one of our operating theatres. This administers warmed up fluids very rapidly and can save the life of a women suffering a major haemorrhage. |
£25,000 | Will buy… | a portable Ultrasound scanning machine for our Antenatal department, which will benefit thousands of pregnant women. |
£28,800 | Will buy… | a state-of-the-art STAN machine, allowing us to monitor the heartbeats of babies in distress during labour. It will reduce the number of emergency caesarean sections and directly increase the chances of babies being delivered safely. |
£20,000 | Will allow us to provide… | access to a bereavement counsellor service, giving vital comfort and support to families at an unbearable time. Added to NHS funding, this amount will allow us to provide this service 365 days a year. |
