Medical Photography
What we do
During your treatment at the hospital, your doctors may want some still photographs or video images of your illness or treatment for medical records, teaching or publication.
This will be fully explained to you beforehand, and if required you will need to visit the Medical Photography department or our qualified Medical Photographers will go to the wards, theatres, clinics and laboratories when required.
We provide this service to all departments throughout the hospital. We have a fully equipped photographic studio and can also carry out different types of specialist photography such as:
- Fluorescein angiography
- Diabetic retinopathy screening
- Photomicrography
The team consists of:

Where to find us
We are located next to the Emergency and Urgent Care Centre, in the Orange Zone. Access is from Hospital Road and is signposted 'MRI Unit and Medical Photography'.

How to get treatment
You will be referred to our department by a hospital consultant.
We do however also provide treatment to private patients on a fee paying basis.
