Research Governance Issues including:

• Informed consent procedures
• Health and safety issues
• Data protection and confidentiality

All research projects undertaken in the Trust must have been approved by the Trust Research and Development Committee.

Trust R&D Committee Approval

The main functions of Whipps Cross R&D Committee are to uphold and improve the quality of all research conducted within the Trust. All research must have R&D approval before it can commence.

Ethics Committee Approval

Ethics approval is required for any research proposal. This approval is independent of the Trust approval and is obtained from the ethics committees which are managed via the central office of Research Ethics Committee by the National Patient Safety Agency
